Unveiling the pore-size performance of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) is imperative for controllable design sophisticated catalysts. Herein, UiO-66 with distinct macropores and mesopores were intentionally created served as substrates to create advanced CdS/UiO-66 The pore size impacted spatial distribution CdS nanoparticles (NPs): tended deposit on external surface mesoporous UiO-66, but spontaneously penetrated into large cavity macroporous nanocage. Normalized unit amount CdS, photocatalytic reaction constant over 4-nitroaniline reduction was ∼3 folds that counterpart, outperformed many other reported state-of-art CdS-based A confinement effect NPs within cage could respond its high activity, which shorten electron-transport distance NPs-MOFs-reactant, protect active from photocorrosion. finding here provides a straightforward paradigm mechanism rationally fabricate advance NPs/MOFs diverse applications.
